River Rafting Adventure

So George did take his camera with him yesterday (and kept it safely encased in a plastic bag when they hit the rapids) so here's a little glimpse into their adventure yesterday:

Part of their rafting trip took them onto the White River (otherwise they were on the Deschutes) and this is why it's called the "White" River because of the silt that gets kicked up in it, giving it the white color... (I love Anthony's expression in this shot...that's exactly the face I'd have made...I really hate getting into water I can't see through!)

Anthony had the camera and got this shot of George coming up out of the water after floating down across a rapid (which there are photos of too but you have to see the whole series to really appreciate it.)

The boys had a really wonderful & memorable time...an awesome birthday for Anthony!!!

B-B-B-Birthday!!!

Happy birthday to you...
Happy birthday to YOU...
Happy BIRTHday, sweet Anthony-y-y-y-y-y!!!
Happy birthday to you-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u!!!!

He's 9 today and off on a whitewater rafting adventure together with George & Aaron. I don't know if they'll have photos or not. Regardless, they're having fun.

Meanwhile, the little guys & I took advantage of the summery day and hung out at the Sunset wading pool. Love this place.

News of some importance...

It has come to my attention that there are actually people out there who aren't on Facebook who haven't yet heard the results of the ultrasound... My deepest apologies...

And here he is...boy #5 in our family!!! (Or according to the boys today, it's a T-Rex.)

And here HE is (and no, that's not a hand handling things...it's the umbilical cord):
From this angle, I gotta admit the boys have a point...he does look rather T-Rexish (and for those who have trouble with ultrasound photos, that's his face...he's laying with his head toward the left side):
While I have to admit I am sad that I'll never have a daughter of my own, it is WAY cool to have FIVE boys! Not many people can say that (in fact, I know personally only one other family having 5 boys (Hilary!))

And for anyone who cares about my book project...the end is in sight!!! I finished all the photos for the illustrations today, so all that's left is to finish those 6 drawings, hooray!!! I may get to actually enjoy a little part of this summer before school starts again after all.

He's alive...or he was...

Look! It's Captain Hook, disguised as a Taliban leader:

Ok, well actually it's Baitullah Mehsud, the late Taliban leader...but don't you agree that he bears a striking resemblance to Captain Hook?

I have so many blog-able things going on but I apologize that I simply haven't the time to sit here and post them. Maybe once school starts and my book deadline is past, I'll finally get around to it. I've still got 6-1/2 more illustrations to finish and just over 3 weeks to finish them all in...so busy, busy, busy!!!
